"Who better than to lead the office of Returning Citizens Affairs than a person with lived experience?"— Alonzo Turner-Bey · WTOP Interview, July 2025
Alonzo Turner-Bey is a passionate advocate, public servant, and grassroots leader running to serve District 26 on the Maryland Democratic Central Committee — bringing lived experience to a seat that has never seen it.
Born and raised in Southeast Washington, D.C., Alonzo attended elementary school in Prince George's County, then Francis Scott Key Middle School and Suitland High School. He later enrolled at Coppin State University, deepening his connection to civic life and service.
